WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (July 8, 2024) – Two Americans familiar to tennis fans have committed to join the player field for this August’s event.

Christopher Eubanks, 28, will make his main draw debut in Winston-Salem. The 2023 Wimbledon quarterfinalist is currently ranked No. 62 in the world and has qualified for the 2024 Paris Olympics.

“We are thrilled Chris has committed to the field this summer. He is the type of guy our fans will enjoy engaging with and watching. It’s hard not to love a player with his energy,” says Tournament Director Jeff Ryan.

Eubanks has enjoyed a career-high ranking of No. 29 and captured his first title last year in Mallorca, Spain on grass. He was a two-time All-American during his time playing for Georgia Tech between 2015-2017 and first broke into the top 100 last year.

Marcos Giron, another college standout and new Olympian is making his fifth appearance in Winston-Salem. The current world No. 46 enjoyed his deepest run at the tournament in 2021 where he fell in the quarterfinals (6-7, 2-6) to current world No. 3 Carlos Alcaraz. Giron played for UCLA from 2012-2014 and won the NCAA singles title before turning pro. He is seeking his first title at the ATP Tour-level.

Ryan says he’s happy to be hosting Giron again.  “I’ve known Marcos for a number of years, and it’s great to see him having so much success. We are excited he has chosen Winston-Salem to round out the summer before heading to New York.”

The tournament expects to announce the full player field in late July.
